Felix settled himself behind his desk early Monday morning two weeks before the start of the new term at Hogwarts. His desk a step above purely utilitarian with is polished mahogany surfaces and etched drawers and intricately carved legs. to his right a book shelf stuffed to bursting with books on everything from the dragon pox to the latest journals on the newest use of werewolf fur in an antidote for some drug the muggles had started to make for parties. Looking around the office he took in the couch beside the book shelf and the coffee table with its many many rings of coffee stains all over it. On the opposite wall of his office is a full sized anatomically correct male and female poster. The large wooden door into the rest of the hospital hung slightly open, enough to block most of the noises coming from the hallway and the rest of the ward but open enough should someone wish to speak with him it was apparent he was available.

He had just a couple weeks earlier sent an owl containing his application to the Head of Transfiguration at Hogwarts. He awaited a response of some kind eagerly. Transfiguration had always been his favorite subject well attending school. It had of course served him well in his profession as a healer. But he ached for another adventure to stretch his legs on a new task, to try his limits in a new way. He wanted to give back to the school that had give him so much, to the grounds where he had first learned to soar as a falcon across the lake, over the dark forests and the roof tops of the castle itself.  It just wasn't the same flying over the buildings of London as it was across the moors and the magical places around Hogwarts itself. He missed the three broom sticks.

Of course it wasn't all excitement,he would be leaving a position of note at the hospital. How would he do teaching the children. Did he remember what it was like to practice turning a match stick into a needle and back any more. With a flick of his wrist he silently transfigures a quill to a needle on his desk top then another flick and its a match stick a couple more flicks and its back to being a quill again. Not only applying for the job but he was applying to the Head of Raven Claw as well. To lead by example to those that wished to study hard and find enjoyment through academic success. It would be a lie to say he was returning only to teach and be a mentor. No he wished the access to others who were leaders in their fields and to be able to conduct research to help the wizarding community as a whole.

These thoughts flitted through Felixes mind well he ate his simple sandwich on his lunch break.

A couple of days later..

Felix was once again at his desk eating his lunch with a small fire burning on a cool rainy day, the first hints of fall coming and the first hints of summer coming to a close in the air. The soft warmth of the fire took the cold chill from the air and filled his office with a pleasant smell of fire. He was reviewing a patients file who had been attempting to become an animagus and had most spectacularly failed. He was now trapped as a human who had a dogs leg fora left arm a sort of snout and big brow floppy ears. The usual attempts to reverse the ill effects had yet to produce any sort of progress forward to recovery. However in a couple of days the little cauldron sitting over the fire producing no odor what so ever would be done burbling away and they would try that in conjunction with reprifarge and hopefully Mr.Saxt could head home and perhaps find some one to assist him in his en-devour in the future.

With the two windows behind him framing his desk slightly cracked to allow the fresh air in the room, even if it was slightly chilly it was pleasant to hear the soft dripping of the rain out side the window. The biggest down side for him of course would be that that evening after his shift he would have to apperate home instead of fly. He had been rather looking forward to soaring above the buildings of London that evening and diving down towards his little flat. Alas another day.

Tap, tap, tap. Tap...tap...tap tap. The tapping came from a downy splash coloured owl sitting on the ledge of the right open window. It had startled Felix slightly as he had been eating and reading. Turning around to look and seeing the owl sitting on the ledge it tapped once more before  he could open the window a little more and it flitted inside landing softly on the lamp beside his desk. In its  beak it held an envelope with a large red seal.

Excitement started to build in him. Hope bloomed in his chest. He softly took the letter and looking at the wonderful wax seal upon it, the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, his heart leapt. A bit of worry tempering his hopes. Taking a sterling silver letter opener upon his desk he softly and quickly sliced open the envelope. Sure enough inside was a letter of acceptance! His heart leapt, he would be the new Head of Transfiguration and the Head of Raven Claw in the new term set to start in September.

Felix sat down amazed. The owl looked at him quizzically, clearly waiting for something. Quickly he pulled out a fresh sheet of parchment and a fresh envelope. He quickly wrote upon the envelope. To    1@Minister Arya Dumetru and 1@Prof. Alexander Johnson

Moving to the parchment he wrote.

Good day to you both,

Thank you for the opportunity to teach and mentor at Hogwarts. I appreciate the trust and confidence you have in me by appointing me to bot the the Head of Transfiguration and to the Head of Raven Claw House!

I have dreamed of coming back to Hogwarts to teach and look forward to meeting you both in person in the coming weeks before classes commence. I have a few minor cases to attend to here at St.Mungo's and then will be arriving shortly there after.

Regards,

Professor Felix Fálki

Quickly and neatly folding up the parchment he placed it into the envelope, conjured a small piece of wax a flame to melt it and pressed his family crest upon his ring into it and handed it to the owl who took it happily hopped over to the window and gracefully disappeared into the fog and rain outside.

He then wrote a second letter to the head of St.Mungo's and hand delivered his resignation to them personally. He explained he would of course stay on for a day or two to ensure that his replacement was up to speed and could take over his duties fully.
